It’s with a heavy heart we have to announce that Eid in the park has been cancelled.

Yesterday afternoon the Masjid received feedback from the Director of Public Health South West London who confirmed given the current Covid restrictions and specifically emerging variances of concern locally, Eid in the park has been cancelled.

Please check after Dhuhr on Tuesday, May 11 and you will be able to pre-book for May 13 via www.prayerslots.co.uk

We plan to hold six prayers with the first prayer starting at 5.20am followed by 6am, 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am and lastly, 11.45am.

Please come with your wudu, prayer mat, shoe bag and mask.

1. Sisters are also welcome to attend the prayers, including isha and taraweh.
2. Maintain social distancing – on entry and exit.
3. Wear a face mask.
4. Bring your own prayer mat.
5. Bring your bag to place your shoes. Shoe racks are sealed and not to be used.
6. For Iftar – bring your own dates. A bottle of water will be provided to each individual. Please do not hand out or bring dates for the congregation.
7. Food container per attendee will be handed out at exit after Magrib Salah (do not congregate outside).
8. Mosque will be closed thereafter. It will reopen 15 minutes before isha.
9. Limited bathroom facilities will be available for Taraweh ONLY. Please do wudhu at home
10. Please leave quietly and do not congregate outside after prayers.

Isha Salaah & Taraweeh’s is by reservation only.

A maximum number of 2 is allowed per booking and can be booked for 2 days in advance. Please go to www.prayerslots.co.uk to reserve your place for Isha Salaah. Please note:

1. No children under the age of 12 are allowed inside the mosque (isha and taraweh)
2. Doors will be closed when capacity is reached.
3. Those wishing to pray Isha salaah only – mussallis will be requested to use the side extension hall and exit using the door and alleyway straight ahead.
4. For those wishing to pray Isha and 8 Rakats – mussallis are requested to use the rear two halls and exit using the side alleyway
5. For those praying Isha and the 20 Rakats are requested to pray in the front area of the mosque and use all exits on leaving. The masjid will close 15-20 minutes thereafter.

The Board of Trustees are delighted to announce that the masjid will be open for Jummah prayers from Friday 12 March 2021. This is conditional upon all mussallis following the safety guidelines:

1. Unfortunately due to social distancing, spaces are limited to 200 for brothers. Only those with reservations will be allowed entry. The number for sisters is 30.
2. You MUST wear your face mask at entry and exit and at all times in the masjid. If you do not have one, you may be refused entry.
3. You MUST bring your own prayer mat
4. You MUST have a plastic bag to put your shoes in and keep them next to you. Shoe racks are sealed.
5. You MUST NOT congregate inside or outside the Masjid
6. There are NO Wudhu or bathroom facilities.
7. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed.
   
   We ask for your complete cooperation in these difficult times. Insha’Allah, we should get back to normal in the not too distant future.

KMA often manages and conducts ghusl and funerals for Muslim families in the locality and beyond. Although we provide our services for free, there are instances when a family may need financial support for their funeral needs. For this reason, we have provided some information on support that your family may qualify for.

Bereavement support

(1) There is a bereavement support of £2,500 lumpsum onetime payment from the government plus a monthly payment of £100 per month for 18 months, so a total of £4,300 by the govt through the DWP and it is quite easy to apply and available to mostly all qualifying people that do it in less than 48 hours.

To apply, either one can file the application online or the faster route is just to call the bereavement support line 08007310139 or 08001214433 option 3. The only information required is the name, DOB, N.I. number, date of death, address, bank sort code and account number, that’s all and within 20 minutes the application will be completed and filed by the call centre agent and the money will be in the account in less than 24 to 48 hours, if your application is qualified.

(2) There is also a funeral expenses reimbursement program, that is up to 60% of the actual cost of funeral that you spend will be reimbursed for which you need all supporting documents including the invoice from funereal directors. However, in order to qualify for this, either the deceased or their nearest kin (spouse, any of the surviving children etc) has to be on some kind of benefit such as universal credit, social housing, unemployment, child benefit and so on). As most of you are aware new lockdown rules has been announced by the Prime Minister that will possibly last until the end of January 2021.

Based on these new restrictions and for the safety of the community, Kingston Mosque will be closed until further notice starting from Duhr prayer on the 5th of January 2021.
