Bismillahi ar-Rahmanir ar-Raheem
Following the postponement of the 27 March 2022 AGM due to safety concerns, we are pleased to inform you that the 2022 AGM will be held on 4 September 2022.
Agenda for the AGM:
Appointment of election officers for Board of Trustees and Management Committee elections
As communicated last year, due to COVID restrictions we have been unable to hold the Management Committee (MC) Elections in the way the KMA constitution requires, until now. We also note that tenure of the current Board of Trustees expires in March 2023.
The term of the election officers used in the 2018 election has expired and they cannot be used to oversee the forthcoming a BoT and MC elections unless reapproved by members.
The Board of Trustees will table a vote at the AGM for the reappointment of election officers
The date for the Elections will be announced once the election officers have been reappointed.
Please bring identification as voting is reserved only for KMA members. Security will be in attendance to ensure the smooth running of the event and the safety of our staff.
Priority will be given to KMA members. KMA reserves the right to refuse entry.
We look forward to meeting you at the AGM so that we can work towards the betterment of our beloved Masjid.
Yours sincerely
KMA Board of Trustees

KMA is working in partnership with Kingston Council in order to support our community’s health and well-being.
This week is Mental Health Awareness and we are sharing some information on services that are accessible for those who may need them. Imam van Ael also has some advice and tips on mental health and depression from an Islamic perspective.
The NHS is also providing advice and support, to learn more visit: https://www.nhs.uk/every-mind-matters/
If you’d like further information or support regarding health & well-being, please contact us at health@kingstonmosque.org

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
KMA WISHES YOU EID MUBAARAK!
The new moon hasn’t been sighted, thus it means that the Eid prayer will take place at Kingsmeadow Stadium in Kingston on Monday, 2nd May 2022 at 10:30am.
There will be only one prayer taking place inside the masjid, at 6:30am. After the prayer at Kingsmeadow, there will be many food and other stalls, as well as fun activities such as rides, henna, etc for kids and youth alike!
We would like to also remind that if you haven’t paid your Zakat-ul Fitr, to do so as soon as possible at the mosque. We only accept cash (boxes throughout masjid are provided). We will be sending the Zakat in two batches, one to Ummah Welfare Trust and the other to National Zakat Foundation in shaa Allah. They are trustworthy, reliable and will distribute your Zakat according to the sunnah.
Lastly, the Masjid is looking for volunteers to help on the day of Eid (setting up, cleaning, etc) so if you are able to help, please get in touch with Masjid staff (speak to someone in the office at the front of the masjid) or send us an email to info@kingstonmosque.org
May Allah bless you all and accept all our acts of worship, aameen!
-KMA Board of Trustees.

Assalamu alaykum wrwb,
It has been confirmed that fasting will commence tomorrow Saturday, the 2nd of April 2022. Taraweeh prayers have commenced tonight (Friday, 1st April).
First fast: Saturday 2nd April 2022
Start of last ten nights: Night of 21st April
Odd nights: 21 (Thur), 23 (Sat), 25 (Mon), 27 (Wed) and 29 (Fri) of April.
May Allah accept all our worship, fasting, Qur’an recitation and all other acts of worship in this blessed month of Ramadan and forgive us for our shortcomings, aameen.
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Alhamdulillah, Ramadan is almost upon us and that means the chance to rejuvenate and better ourselves in the eyes of Allah. We ask Allah to allow us to complete Ramadan in the best manner possible, aameen.
We have a lot planned for this Ramadan and this post is to share with the community what that is, as well as other important information.
To view or download the KMA Ramadan timetable, please click here.
Please bear in mind that the beginning of Ramadan is reliant on the sighting of the new moon and therefore the timetable could vary by 1 day.
We have lectures (brothers and sisters are both welcome) planned every weekend during Ramadan, delivered by Imam Abdesamad Abdellaoui, Shaykh Sulayman Van Ael and Dr. Sohail Hanif. Additional lectures may take place and if so, these will be announced in advance.
All lectures will be streamed live on our YouTube channel.
Alhamdulillah, after two years of lockdowns and restrictions, we are now able with the grace of Allah to invite musallees (brothers only) to perform I’tikaaf in the masjid due to the recent lifting of COVID19 restrictions. As previously done, there will be an application process for 11 spots (the maximum available) and musallees will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
To register for I’tikaaf, click here.
The masjid will provide for Iftar as previously done every year. However, the community can contribute to the breaking of the fast by donating. Unfortunately, we can only accept bank transfer or cash donations, not actual food.
To donate Suhur/Iftar for 1 day it costs £350.
If you wish to pay by cash: Hand over to Operations Officer (Badr) at mosque office in a sealed envelope clearly labelled IFTAR22 with the date and your name.
Bank details:
Natwest Bank
Kingston Muslim Association
Account Number: 43276156 / Sort Code: 60-60-02
Make reference as IFTAR22
As done in previous years, we will be opening our masjid 1-2hrs early before Fajr to perform Qiyam ul-Layl on the last 10 nights in congregation, should anyone wish to. Additionally, for the first time, we will also be opening the masjid early on Fridays and Saturdays for Qiyam ul-Layl throughout the whole of Ramadan in shaa Allah.
These prayers will be led by Qari Othman Barkouch and Imam Abdesamad Abdellaoui.
This year’s Zakat-ul Fitr is £5 per eligible person. If you wish KMA to manage your Zakat-ul Fitr, please make sure to pay as early as possible, ideally by 21st April. Anything given past that cannot be guaranteed to reach beneficiaries in time.
Zakat-ul Fitr must be paid ONLY IN CASH. Clearly labelled boxes will be available throughout the masjid where you can put in your Zakat-ul Fitr.
Unfortunately last year we were unable to perform the Eid prayer in Kingsmeadow due to COVID19 restrictions, however this year we will be organising it there.
More information about Eid prayer times and Eid in the Park will be announced closer to the time in shaa Allah.
